Lalitham Sundaram, the directorial debut of actor Madhu Warrier has Manju Warrier and Biju Menon in the lead roles. The movie is a family drama that revolves around the theme of relationships in the modern work-stressed era.

Lalitham Sundaram is about three siblings who visit their parents’ home in Kerala. Sunny (Biju Menon), Annie (Manju Warrier), and Jerry (Anu Mohan) are siblings who live in Kochi, Mumbai, and Bangalore respectively. The siblings’ relationship with each other is off the beaten track with sporadic conversations and middling moments. Though they are waiting to rush back to their busy lives, a few moments made them stay a little longer for a vacation.

It is such a feel-good movie for those who are craving blithe movies. The movie has done justice to its name, Laitham Sundaram, which means simple and beautiful. Madhu Warrier has given the script a pretty decent frame. The misty location of Vandiperiyar was bliss for eyes and the color grading needs a special mention. The movie is filled with an array of exceptionally talented actors who never fails to disappoint. But, actor Sudeesh who essayed Rajesh needs a special mention for his top-hole performance.

With all these positives, there’s nothing great that makes the movie a must-watch. Despite a predictable storyline and an overfilled feel goodness, it won’t disappoint a family audience seeking some couthy time.

The movie is premiering on Disney+ Hotstar.
